Oil, cold wax and multimedia on Birchwood.  Autumn Equinox uses fall colors to make a bold statement.  Inspired by Mark Rothko paintings, this captures the connection we have with the cycles of nature.  Autumn equinox is a time when daylight starts to shorten allowing us to go within and prepare for winter.  The dark colors on top with the light at the bottom symbolize this transition.  Beautiful texture and layering on this piece.
